Pet potty & pee pads are absorbent pads designed to protect your floors from urine. So the question is what is the best fabric combination for pet potty and pee pads? Well the answer is a little complicated, as we have a lot of fabrics available that can serve your needs, but we're here to help you sort through the noise. We have partnered with AKAS Tex, Lycra, CoolMax, Cotton Inc & Silvadur to design & create the best fabrics for making pet potty pads. We broke down their construction and provided a list of fabrics for each layer so that finding the best combinations is easier than ever.
Pet potty and pee pads can usually be made with 2-layers or 3-layers. In a 3-layer design the top layer is the stay dry layer, the middle layer is an absorbent core and the bottom layer is a waterproof protection layer that helps protect the floor from leaks. In the 2-layer design, the top layer serves as the moisture wicking and absorbent layer (Zorb 3D Stay Dry Dimple) along with a bottom waterproof layer OR the top layer can be a moisture wicking stay dry layer while the bottom layer serves the function of absorbency and waterproof protection (think Zorb 4D CORE PUL's). Below we've included list of the fabrics that can be used:
As you can see, it's not a question of, "What is the best fabric combination?", but rather, "What are the best fabric combinations and which will work best for me?" It all depends on the design of the potty and pee pads and your personal preference.
We do recommend you purchase a swatch first, so you can see and feel the fabric before purchasing a larger quantity for your specific application.
