Important Notice about Natural Fiber Fabrics:
The attributes of natural fiber fabrics such as bamboo, cotton, and organic cotton can be influenced by various factors including the specific type of fiber used, the plant or tree from which it was harvested, and the unique properties of the soil. Despite the weight of the fabric remaining constant, its tactile sensation and perceived thinness can vary. This is largely dependent on the fullness of the yarn, which is dictated by the inherent characteristics of the fiber.

Fabric Weight: 145 GSM / 4.3 ounces per square yard

Fabric Width: 30" - 32" tubular (60" - 64" wide when cut open) / 76 cm - 81 cm tubular (152 cm - 162 cm wide when cut open)

Fabric Thickness: 0.016 inch +/- 10%

Approx. Shrinkage (Length): 8% - 10%
Approx. Shrinkage (Width): 2% - 4%

Important Note about Shrinkage
All natural fiber knits will shrink further. Percent shrinkage has been tested in a controlled lab. It may vary under different wash/dry conditions and from batch to batch. It is recommended to test shrinkage on a small piece first and then pre-wash whole yardage at the setting that your finished stitched item will be washed.

Approx. Stretch (Length): 5%
Approx. Stretch (Width): 20%

UPF Rating: 15 to 20 (Lighter Colors = 15, Darker Colors = 20)
☀️ Read about UV Protection in Fabrics - Your Total UPF Rating Guide

Important Note about UPF Ratings:
Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 % of the sun’s rays and allows 2% (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly. A UPF 30 fabric blocks 97% of UV rays and allows roughly 3% of UV transmission. UPF 15 indicates that the fabric blocks roughly 93% of UV rays and allows about 7% of available UV radiation to pass through.

UPF 10 to 30 = Fair Protection
UPF 30 to 50 = Good Protection
UPS 50+ = Excellent Protection

Absorption in Fabrics

We strive to provide high-quality fabrics suitable for a diverse range of applications. It is important to note, however, that we do not perform absorption testing on our fabrics. The absorbency of any fabric can be significantly influenced by the design and construction of the final product in which it is used.

Key Points:

  1. Product Design Influence: The ultimate absorption capacity of a fabric in a finished product depends heavily on the product's specific design and construction. Variations in design can lead to significant differences in performance.

  2. Recommendation for Testing: We strongly recommend that customers conduct their own testing to determine the absorption characteristics of our fabrics in conjunction with their product designs. This testing should consider all elements of product design and the interaction between different materials.

  3. Interactions with Other Materials: The performance of our absorbent fabrics can be affected by the use of additional layers or materials. For instance:

    • Adding a cotton top layer may enhance the overall absorption capability.
    • Integrating a moisture-wicking layer can facilitate rapid moisture dispersion, potentially reducing compression leaks and influencing perceived absorbency.
  4. Variability in Performance: Due to the myriad of factors that can influence the absorbency of a fabric within a specific product design—including material combinations, construction techniques, and external conditions—we cannot guarantee specific results without proper testing.
