Important Note about UPF Ratings:
Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 % of the sun’s rays and allows 2% (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly. A UPF 30 fabric blocks 97% of UV rays and allows roughly 3% of UV transmission. UPF 15 indicates that the fabric blocks roughly 93% of UV rays and allows about 7% of available UV radiation to pass through.
UPF 10 to 30 = Fair Protection
UPF 30 to 50 = Good Protection
UPS 50+ = Excellent Protection

Important Note about Moisture Wicking Performance in ProCool fabrics:
These fabrics are designed to be moisture wicking and stay dry without the use of any chemicals during manufacturing. Some ProCool fabrics have a mesh pattern side; so please be sure to use this mesh pattern side against the skin for best moisture wicking performance.
Our TransWICK fabrics are one-way-wicking in nature, meaning they allow for moisture transmission in only one direction, so it is imperative that the correct side of the fabric (i.e. mesh pattern side) is facing the skin otherwise it will not wick moisture at all.
So I used this fabric for period underwear. Compared to other commercially available period underwear (compared with bambody, modibodi, and thinx) it didn’t absorb as fast (this was checked through pouring water on the different materials), but it did feel the most dry after it did absorb. For menstruation you bleed in drips and drabs so time isn’t of the essence though, so the speed didn’t matter. The one downside was the heat. Full disclosure, I’m based in Dubai, so this may not be a problem for most climates. But yeah, it can feel hot after a while - so wouldn’t recommend making a pad for light days out of this. For heavy days when you’re changing more often/feeling dry is key, this is great. But for light days, especially if you’re sensitive to heat, this may make you feel a little hot.
