Dish Mats Fabric Finder

Whether you live with roommates, a significant other, kids or a combination of all three, there's no way to get around the mountain of dishes that inevitably piles up. When you (or on the rare occasion they...I'm looking at you Austin) finally wash all the dishes, nearly every counter in the kitchen turns into a temporary drying rack. In order to prevent the water from dripping onto the floor and the soggy socks that follow, we compiled a collection of the best fabrics for dish mats.

Our Zorb® line absorbs 10 times its weight in under 2 seconds and soaks up 20 times faster than other materials (bamboo, cotton, hemp knits). These fabrics are 100% free of toxic chemicals and finishes and are uniquely engineered to rapidly capture and distribute moisture with superior holding capacity. If you opt for the Zorb® Original, it must be serged between two other fabrics before use. If you want a standalone fabric for your dish mat, any one of the Zorb® 3D Dimples would be a great choice.

Our ProSoft® line is 100% eco-friendly, free of toxic chemicals and finishes and is tested to withstand 300+ washings. While one of these fabrics would not make for a good dish mat on their own, combined with a Zorb® 3D Dimple fabric would make for the perfect dish mat. The Zorb® fabric would absorb all the water from the dishes and the ProSoft® fabric (when sewed on the bottom) would ensure that there is no build up of water on the counter below the mat. You can achieve this level of superabsorbentwaterprooftion either by sewing a ProSoft® PUL with a Zorb® 3D Dimple or by purchasing a Zorb® 4D Dimple which already has the two kinds of fabrics combined.
