Application Instructions and Tips:
- Polyurethane elastic tapes must be stretched to their limit 3 times before sewing. This relaxes the elastic's memory and will provide the best performance and fit in your finished garment.
- Straight and basting stitching through solid rubber and PU tapes can create perforation lines, use long and wide stitching, serge, or zig-zag whenever possible.
- Do not leave elastic in direct sunlight.
Festoon refers to a type of packaging that is loose but orderly. Elastic is often 'festooned' into bags or boxes for storage and transport.
When the end of the festooned product is pulled from the bag or box, it feeds off neatly without tangling. It also comes out flat, tensionless, and can be continuous in very large quantities -- a big advantage for elastics.
Festooning is often used to package string, narrow tapes like elastic, and slit items like bindings.
To use festooned products, simply locate the end and pull the material vertically from the bag.
